Polestar is expanding its Arctic Circle performance collection to three models, with the Polestar 2, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 versions set to be shown publicly from February 1, 2025, at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria. The event puts the cars in a winter motorsport setting, following the original Polestar 2 Arctic Circle revealed in 2022.

The collection draws on Scandinavian rallying and Polestar’s Arctic Circle development work in Sweden. Company CEO Michael Lohscheller said the cars are intended to showcase the brand’s performance identity, while Polestar Head of Driving Dynamics Joakim Rydholm led the engineering work. Rydholm has more than 30 years of motorsport experience and a background in Swedish rally competition.

Rally-inspired hardware across the range

All three Arctic Circle models receive equipment aimed at improving their capability in demanding winter conditions. The common hardware includes raised suspension, three-way adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers, Pirelli studded tires, OZ Racing wheels, Recaro Pole Position bucket seats and Stedi Quad Pro LED front spotlights.

Rally-inspired mudflaps and Swedish gold towing equipment reinforce the visual theme. Each car also receives equipment for carrying winter gear, including skis, roof bars, ski racks or other storage solutions.

Polestar 2, 3 and 4 specifications

The Polestar 2 Arctic Circle is based on a MY21 Long-haul twin-engine car with the Performance Pack and software upgrade. It produces 476 PS and 680 Nm, while its ride height increases by 30 mm. The car uses 19-inch OZ Racing Rally Racing wheels and Pirelli P Zero Winter tires in 245/45R19 sizing for on-road driving.

The Polestar 3 Arctic Circle uses the MY24 Long-haul twin-engine model with the Performance Pack. Its output is 517 PS and 910 Nm, with a 40-mm ride-height increase. It rides on 20-inch OZ Racing Rally Legend wheels and uses Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2 tires measuring 255/50R20 at the front and 285/45R20 at the rear.

The Polestar 4 Arctic Circle is based on the MY24 Long-haul twin-engine model with the Performance Pack. It delivers 544 PS and 686 Nm, gains 20 mm of ride height and uses 20-inch OZ Racing Rally Legend wheels. Its Pirelli Scorpion Winter 2 tires measure 255/50R20.

Winter equipment and public debut

Polestar lists Thule WingBar Edge roof bars and SnowPack ski racks for the Polestar 2. The Polestar 3 receives Thule WingBar Edge roof bars with customized ski racks, while the Polestar 4 gets specialized ski racks.

Polestar has not announced pricing or indicated that the Arctic Circle cars will be offered as regular production models. For now, the collection’s public debut at the FAT Ice Race will provide the first opportunity to see all three vehicles together and observe their winter-focused design and equipment.
