Subaru is restoring a base trim to the 2027 Impreza lineup, lowering the hatchback’s starting price to $25,840 with the $1,245 destination charge included. The cheaper version returns after Subaru removed the base model for 2026, while the previously available Sport trim is discontinued.

The 2027 Impreza lineup consists of the newly revived base model and the Impreza RS. The base car costs $1,950 less than the 2026 entry point, while the RS rises by $50 to $30,740. All 2027 Impreza models use a 2.5-liter boxer engine, a continuously variable transmission and standard all-wheel drive.

2027 Subaru Impreza pricing

Subaru’s pricing changes reverse last year’s increase at the bottom of the range. For 2026, the automaker eliminated the base Impreza and made the Sport the entry-level trim at $27,790. The Sport had previously occupied the middle position between the base model and RS in 2024.

Standard equipment and RS upgrades

The base Impreza rides on 17-inch dark gray wheels and includes a 7.0-inch infotainment screen. Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with USB-A and USB-C charging ports, cloth seats and dual-zone climate control.

The RS adds 18-inch dark gray wheels, black cloth upholstery, fog lights and a roof spoiler. It also upgrades to an 11.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An all-weather package is standard on every RS and includes heated front seats and heated mirrors.

Buyers can add a $2,070 technology package to the RS. It includes a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a power moonroof and a 10-way power-adjustable front seat.

Engine, colors and availability

Every 2027 Subaru Impreza uses the company’s 2.5-liter boxer engine, which produces 180 horsepower. Subaru pairs that engine with a continuously variable transmission and sends power to all four wheels as standard equipment.

Exterior colors include Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Sapphire Blue Pearl and the newly available Ignition Red. Citron Yellow Pearl is also offered as a $395 premium paint option.

By reviving the base model, Subaru gives the Impreza a lower headline price while preserving the RS as the performance-oriented choice in the two-trim range. The 2027 lineup no longer includes the Sport badge.
