The 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport is arriving at dealerships with more than a revised window sticker. Honda has reworked roughly 70 percent of the trim’s major suspension components, increased ground clearance to 9.65 inches and added equipment previously reserved for the TrailSport Elite. Pricing starts at $49,995 before destination charges, which is $1,345 more than the outgoing TrailSport.
The broader Passport lineup also sees price changes, although they vary by trim. The entry-level RTL starts at $45,195, a $245 increase over last year, while the TrailSport Elite costs $53,695, up $1,045. The TrailSport Blackout rises by $1,645 compared with its 2026 version.
2027 Honda Passport TrailSport pricing
- Passport RTL: $45,195, up $245
- Passport TrailSport: $49,995, up $1,345
- Passport TrailSport Elite: $53,695, up $1,045
- Passport TrailSport Blackout: up $1,645 versus 2026
The Blackout version adds 18-inch black alloy wheels and other dark exterior details. Its larger increase is separate from the standard TrailSport’s pricing, which reflects the updated mechanical package.
Suspension upgrades raise ground clearance
Honda says the TrailSport’s ground clearance grows from 8.27 inches on the 2026 model to 9.65 inches for 2027. That 1.38-inch gain comes with changes to the front subframe, front driveshafts and other suspension parts, rather than simply using taller springs or tires.
The revised setup also brings more wheel articulation. That allows the tires to remain planted over uneven terrain, while the increased ride height improves the Passport’s approach, breakover and departure angles. General Grabber A/T Sport tires remain standard on the TrailSport and work with the new suspension geometry.
The TrailSport Elite receives the same major suspension changes. Honda has not changed the powertrain for 2027: every Passport continues to use a 3.5-liter V6 built at the automaker’s plant in Lincoln, Alabama.
More TrailSport standard equipment
The 2027 TrailSport gains a heated steering wheel and Honda’s TrailWatch camera system as standard equipment. TrailWatch helps the driver see around the Passport’s front corners and beneath the vehicle, which can be useful when navigating technical trail sections or obstacles that are difficult to view from the driver’s seat.
Those additions narrow the equipment gap between the regular TrailSport and TrailSport Elite. The Elite still carries a premium of nearly $4,000, but the lower trim now includes two features that previously helped distinguish the range-topper.
When can you buy the 2027 Passport TrailSport?
Honda says the 2027 Passport is now arriving at dealerships, with vehicles reaching lots nationwide. TrailSport models have represented more than 80 percent of Passport sales since mid-2026, a share Honda said exceeded its expectations when the trim first launched.
For buyers focused on trail capability, the higher entry price is tied to hardware changes beneath the body rather than a simple appearance package. The 2027 Passport TrailSport therefore occupies a more capable position in the lineup while retaining the same 3.5-liter V6.
