Tesla buyers ordering a Model Y in the US may face a wait of several months, but the timeline depends heavily on the version selected. The long-wheelbase Model Y L Premium currently shows an estimated delivery window of January to February 2027, while the standard-wheelbase Premium and Performance models are listed for October to November 2026 arrivals.
The delivery estimates appeared on Tesla's US order pages in late September, ahead of the company's third-quarter delivery announcement. The Model Y L Premium's January-February window is the longest currently shown for any Model Y configuration.
Model Y L orders stretch into 2027
Tesla opened US and Puerto Rico orders for the Model Y L Premium AWD Launch Series on July 2, 2026. Deliveries for the earliest customers began in September, but a new order placed in late September was estimated to arrive roughly five months later.
The Model Y L uses a long-wheelbase body that adds a third row and more cargo space than the standard Model Y. The gap between its delivery estimate and the shorter waits for standard-wheelbase models suggests demand for the new body style may be creating the backlog, rather than a supply constraint affecting the entire Model Y range.
The Launch Series started at $61,990 and included one year of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Supercharging, and Premium Connectivity. Tesla also bundled free paint, interior, and wheel choices with the launch model.
Standard Model Y delivery estimates
The base Model Y, offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, currently carries an estimated delivery window of December 2026 to January 2027. That puts it roughly one to two months ahead of the Model Y L Premium for a new order.
For buyers seeking a sooner delivery, the Model Y Premium in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is listed for October to November 2026. The Model Y Performance shows the same estimated window, making both versions the quickest Model Y choices on Tesla's current configurator.
These dates are estimates rather than guarantees and can change as Tesla's production and order mix shift. Tesla's Model 3 order page shows a similarly broad spread, ranging from October-November 2026 for the Performance model to January-March 2027 for the base car.
Pricing and California incentives
Delivery timing is not the only variable changing across Tesla's lineup. Lease pricing for the Model Y Premium increased 4.5 percent in May 2026, bringing the effective monthly payment to $718.
California shoppers may also qualify for the state's MyFirstEV instant rebate program. The program launched a $3,500 point-of-sale incentive for first-time zero-emission-vehicle buyers in early August 2026, and Tesla is listed among the participating automakers. Eligibility depends on current program funding, income, vehicle, and purchase requirements, so buyers should verify the details with the official program or a participating Tesla store.
Tesla's order page remains the best place to check an individual vehicle's estimated arrival date, particularly as the company prepares to publish its third-quarter delivery count.
