Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s first automotive brand, has unveiled its first production vehicles: the all-electric Exobot sedan and Exobot SUV. The wedge-shaped models share a modular electric architecture, tri-motor all-wheel drive, and an ambitious design that includes nearly three-meter-long upward-opening doors.

Created in 2022 by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund and Foxconn, Ceer is intended to establish a domestic automotive industry in the kingdom. The company says it has developed the Exobot with support from partners including BMW and major suppliers, with future vehicles planned for production in Saudi Arabia.

Futuristic design with Saudi influences

The sedan measures 5.26 meters (17.3 feet) long, while the SUV is 5.02 meters (16.5 feet) long. Both are 2.1 meters (6.9 feet) wide and use a dramatic wedge profile, ultra-slim lighting, and a 2.4-meter (7.9-foot) windshield.

Ceer says the sculpted bodywork takes inspiration from the ancient architecture of Hegra. Its 32-element lighting signature references 1932, the year Saudi Arabia was unified, while the wheels use triangular details drawn from architectural motifs found across the country.

The standout feature is the Shahin Wing Door system. The panels measure nearly three meters long and rise in a 60-centimeter arc, inspired by the flight of the Shahin falcon. Ceer says the doors can be opened using the key fob or controls on the doors, with access for both front and rear passengers.

Inside, both vehicles use a minimalist steering yoke, steer-by-wire technology, and door-glass sections that can switch between transparent and opaque at the touch of a button.

Powertrain, performance, and range

The launch specification uses three electric motors and produces up to 850 horsepower. The Exobot sedan reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.6 seconds, while the SUV completes the same run in 2.9 seconds. Hyundai Transys supplies the front motors, and Rimac supplies the rear motor.

Both versions use a 112-kWh NCM battery and an 800-volt electrical system. Ceer says charging from 10 to 80 percent takes under 30 minutes. The sedan is rated for up to 670 kilometers (416 miles) on the NEDC cycle, while the SUV is rated at 560 km (348 miles). Those NEDC figures are not directly comparable with EPA or WLTP results.

A higher-output version is planned with 1,111 horsepower and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque. In that specification, the sedan reaches 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds and tops out at 250 km/h (155 mph). The SUV takes 2.4 seconds and reaches 210 km/h (130 mph).

First Edition leads Ceer’s wider lineup

Ceer will initially offer the Exobot models in limited First Edition form, followed by a Plus version. The First Edition includes 850 horsepower, 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft), the 112-kWh battery, red-and-black Nappa leather, special exterior finishes, and a numbered plaque tied to the vehicle’s VIN.

The Exobot is the first of seven Ceer models planned through 2030. The company says smaller and midsize vehicles are coming, along with different propulsion systems. Future Ceer models will not be limited to electric power, as the automaker plans to offer combustion engines if customer demand supports them.

All of the vehicles are planned for production at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex in King Abdullah Economic City. Ceer describes the facility as the largest automotive production complex in the Middle East, positioning the Exobot as the first step in a broader Saudi vehicle manufacturing program rather than a standalone EV project.
