Hemmings has launched Hemmings Financing, a new program designed to simplify the purchase of classic and collector cars and trucks. The service offers buyer pre-approvals, estimated monthly payments, and the ability to apply directly from a vehicle listing, whether the car is offered through a Hemmings auction or classified listing.

The financing option also extends beyond Hemmings’ own marketplace. Buyers can use it for a vehicle found on another website or purchased directly from a private seller, including someone selling a car from a garage or personal collection.

How Hemmings Financing works

Hemmings will display estimated monthly payments on eligible vehicle listings, along with a “Finance This Vehicle” link across its auction and classifieds properties. Buyers can use that information while comparing cars, giving them an idea of the potential monthly cost before making an offer.

Shoppers do not need to have a specific vehicle selected to begin. Hemmings Financing can provide a pre-approval before the buyer finds the right car, allowing them to establish a budget ahead of the search. That pre-approval can then be used for a purchase outside Hemmings’ listings as well.

The company says its team will also assist with financing after an auction win or accepted offer. That gives both the buyer and seller another resource during the final stages of completing a transaction.

Financing classic and collector vehicles

Hemmings president Jonathan Shaw said the goal is to make collector-car ownership more accessible, regardless of where a buyer finds the vehicle. The company is positioning financing as a way to remove one barrier for enthusiasts who may have the income to support a purchase but do not want to move a large amount of cash between accounts at once.

A financed purchase can also give buyers flexibility when much of their money is committed elsewhere. Hemmings’ program allows them to complete a transaction while managing their broader finances, although the source material does not provide interest rates, loan terms, eligibility requirements, or maximum loan amounts.

What buyers should know

Hemmings Financing is intended for classic and collector cars and trucks, but the announcement does not identify specific model-year limits or detail how vehicles are evaluated. Buyers will need to review the program’s terms and any applicable approval conditions before committing to a purchase.

The launch gives classic-car shoppers a financing path integrated with the search and buying process. It also means a pre-approval obtained through Hemmings can remain useful even if the eventual vehicle comes from another marketplace or a private seller, broadening the program beyond the company’s own listings.
