Volkswagen is offering up to $12,500 off new ID.4 electric crossovers, but the full customer bonus applies only to leftover 2025 model-year vehicles. A separate $6,000 incentive covers 2026 ID.4 models, and both programs are scheduled to end on November 2, 2026.

The offers target remaining dealer inventory after Volkswagen stopped US ID.4 production at its Chattanooga, Tennessee, plant in April 2026. Volkswagen says existing stock can cover demand into 2027, while the factory shifts toward production of the high-volume 2027 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport.

How the Volkswagen ID.4 discount works

The $12,500 Customer Bonus applies to new 2025 ID.4 vehicles sold through participating dealers. Buyers can use it with either a cash purchase or a lease, but the offer excludes fleet sales and dealership sale-program transactions. Volkswagen also says the bonus cannot be redeemed for cash.

Five 2025 trims qualify: Pro, AWD Pro, Pro S, AWD Pro S, and AWD Pro S Plus. Because the incentive is limited to leftover 2025 vehicles, shoppers will need to confirm both the model year and trim before assuming the maximum discount is available.

2026 ID.4 models get $6,000 off

Most ID.4 vehicles remaining on dealer lots are 2026 models, according to the offer details. Those vehicles qualify for a $6,000 Customer Bonus under the same basic conditions: the purchase or lease must go through a participating dealer, and fleet and dealership-program sales are excluded.

Volkswagen lists the 2026 ID.4 Pro with an EPA-estimated range of up to 291 miles from its 82-kilowatt-hour battery. Comparable 2025 Pro models use the same battery pack when available. All-wheel-drive versions are rated closer to 263 miles per charge, giving up some range for their additional motor.

The incentive campaign comes as Volkswagen reshapes its North American electric-vehicle lineup. The automaker has paused ID.4 production for the US market and confirmed that a future version is planned for North America, although it has not announced the vehicle's name or launch timing.

A new electric crossover often described as an ID.4 successor is expected to debut around late 2026, but Volkswagen has not provided detailed specifications or confirmed whether it will retain the ID.4 name.

For buyers, the immediate choice is between the larger discount on older 2025 stock and the smaller incentive on newer 2026 vehicles. The $12,500 offer may be attractive to shoppers who can find a qualifying trim, while the November 2 expiration date makes inventory and timing important.
