Hot Wheels is offering a members-only 1989 Porsche 959 as its second Red Line Club Selections release of 2026. Red Line Club members chose the all-wheel-drive homologation special in a two-stage vote, selecting both the casting and its Spectraflame purple finish. Orders opened September 22, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time and close October 6 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

The Porsche 959 won 41.74 percent of the casting vote, beating a varied field that included the Custom Corvette, a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, the Custom T-Bird, the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 and a 1964 Mercedes-Benz 600. The model was designed by Brendon Vetuskey in 2023.

Hot Wheels Porsche 959 details

After choosing the car, members voted on its finish. Spectraflame purple won over three other color options, giving the late-1980s Porsche a deep metallic look. The selection suits the 959’s squared-off proportions and technology-focused character.

The model carries part number JLX18 and will not receive a mass-retail version, according to Mattel’s Red Line Club listing. That makes the release exclusive to active Red Line Club members during the ordering period.

The Porsche also introduces Real Riders BB wheels with gold-painted hubs. Mattel identifies the wheel tooling as a first for this 959 casting, adding a new detail to the club release beyond its color and collector-only availability.

Price and ordering window

The Hot Wheels RLC Porsche 959 costs $28 before shipping and tax. Eligible members can pre-order as many examples as they want, while buyers outside the Red Line Club cannot purchase this particular model through the preorder window.

The ordering period runs for roughly two weeks, ending October 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Because the release is made for Red Line Club members rather than general retail, availability is tied to club eligibility and the active preorder window.

Where it fits in the 2026 RLC lineup

The 959 follows the 1972 Chevy Nova SS, which won the first Red Line Club Selections round of 2026. The latest vote also included several notable performance and luxury nameplates; the 1971 De Tomaso Mangusta received 1,554 votes, or about 13 percent of the total.

The release continues Hot Wheels’ member-led approach to collector models. Earlier in 2026, the same Selections format produced an RLC Ferrari F40, giving club members a say in which enthusiast-focused cars reach production and how they are finished.
