Ram’s revived Rumble Bee has made an immediate impact. The entry-level 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee, powered by a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, sold through its entire available allocation through March 2027 within 24 hours. The initial 2026 calendar-year allocation went even faster, disappearing just 90 minutes after orders opened, according to Ram.

Ram is now prioritizing sold customer orders within the available allocation. That means buyers who secured a place in line should not have to compete for the same limited group of trucks. CEO Matt VanDyke said the response demonstrates strong customer enthusiasm for performance pickups that combine V8 power, capability and distinctive styling.

2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee powertrain and performance

The least expensive Rumble Bee starts at $62,790 including destination. Its “Eagle” 5.7-liter V8 produces 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Ram lists a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds, while the quarter-mile takes 14.6 seconds at 93 mph.

The engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission and full-time active four-wheel drive. However, a button beside the console shifter can disconnect the front axle, allowing the truck to operate in rear-wheel drive. That gives the street-focused pickup a way to send all of its output to the rear tires.

In Rumble Bee specification, the V8 does without both Ram’s eTorque mild-hybrid system and stop-start technology. That makes this version a notably traditional performance truck as automakers increasingly turn to smaller engines, hybrid systems and battery-electric power.

Rumble Bee design and dimensions

The Rumble Bee uses visual changes to separate it from the standard Ram 1500. It also introduces a new configuration for the nameplate: the smaller Quad Cab paired with a short bed.

Ram says removing 13 inches of frame between the axles gave its designers more freedom to create the truck’s shape. Despite that shorter configuration, the Rumble Bee remains large by European standards, measuring 219.5 inches, or 5.57 meters, from bumper to bumper.

Pricing and availability

The early sellout points to strong demand for a full-size pickup with a naturally traditional V8 character, even as fuel costs remain a consideration. The base Rumble Bee is also positioned below Ram’s more extreme performance offerings, including the 392 and SRT versions, as well as the off-road-focused RHO and flagship TRX.

Ram has not indicated that additional availability will open beyond the current allocation. For now, customers who placed orders are being prioritized, while the trucks allocated through the first quarter of 2027 are already spoken for.
