Alfa Romeo has given its mysterious new concept car a name. Called the Cuorerosso, the sleek sports car-inspired study will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show, with Alfa Romeo’s press conference scheduled for October 12.

The name is the first substantial detail Alfa has shared about the vehicle. The automaker’s latest teaser video offers obscured glimpses of the concept and appears to include an exhaust note. The sound suggests a sporty V6, although music layered over the clip makes the engine difficult to identify with certainty.

What the Cuorerosso teaser shows

Alfa Romeo has previously described the concept as a “vision for the future,” suggesting it is intended to preview the brand’s design direction and broader ambitions. The available images point to a low-slung sports car with a streamlined silhouette.

One portion of the new video seems to show a headlight. Details remain hidden, but the lighting element appears slim and swept back, matching the proportions expected of a sports car with a low nose. Another shot may show the rear taillights, though the image is too obscured to reveal their shape or technology.

Those details build on an earlier rear three-quarter glimpse of the concept, which showed a smooth, athletic form without exposing the car’s full design. Alfa Romeo has not released dimensions, performance figures, drivetrain specifications or production plans.

Possible V6 connection

The apparent engine sound has prompted comparisons with Maserati’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Nettuno V6. That engine already powers the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, which Alfa Romeo continued to list in its lineup in May.

However, Alfa Romeo has not confirmed that the Cuorerosso uses the Nettuno engine, or even that the concept has a production-intended combustion powertrain. The exhaust audio remains an indication from the teaser rather than an official specification.

What Cuorerosso means

Cuorerosso combines cuore, meaning “heart,” with rosso, meaning “red.” Alfa Romeo translates the name roughly as “Red Heart,” connecting red with passion and the heart with the relationship between drivers and the brand’s cars.

Alfa calls the concept a “declaration of intent” designed to demonstrate its creative ambitions and appeal to enthusiasts. The Paris reveal should clarify whether that message points toward a future sports car, a design exercise or a broader preview of upcoming Alfa Romeo products.

Alfa Romeo’s wider product plan

The automaker has not announced a new sports car program. Instead, its near-term plans include a new compact crossover positioned alongside the Tonale and a specialty vehicle being developed with Maserati through the Bottega Fuoriserie project.

Alfa Romeo also expects next-generation Stelvio and Giulia models eventually. Engineers are redesigning those vehicles to accommodate combustion engines. The Cuorerosso could therefore provide an early look at Alfa’s future styling while the production lineup continues to expand across multiple vehicle types.

For now, the name and teaser are all Alfa Romeo has confirmed. More concrete information should arrive when the Cuorerosso is revealed in Paris on October 12.
